NAME: Bender Of Iron Will
On the island of Isania it's tradition to receive a new name when a person reaches adulthood. At first, Bender was known as Ron, but after creating an explosive out of copper and steel, he became Bender Of Iron Will.

GENDER: Male
Being as broad as he is, it's hard to mistake him for a female.

RACE: Human
Humans are the most common race upon the world. They are with many, but live no longer than a century. As an ambitious race, the Humans are far spread and have left behind great legacies.

Isanian Humans tend to be a bit more broad than Humans from the mainland. Their laws and lifestyles are also not as sophisticated, though Isanians are by no means barbarians. They prefer the simple life and seek to form close family ties and enjoy life rather than pursue ambitions.

DEITY: None
Bender Of Iron Will is not a man of faith. Though at his age he is starting to question the view on spirituality he has kept his entire life. He worships no God. In fact, at times he sees himself more as a deity than anything else!

CLASS: Artificer
The Artificers are master crafters. Much like the sorcerer the artificer is in a position of potentially great magic combined with extraordinary crafting abilities. Unlike the sorcerer, the artificer forsakes learning to use spells and instead learns to channel raw arcane magic through his veins into a permanent permeable form through magic items. With his enhanced skills he also receives a supernaturally high level of ability with all the skills that he pursues that deal with his crafting expertise; and can make mundane and magical items of varying qualities with ease.

However, Bender knows little of magic. He understands none of it and wasn't aware for many years that his Artificer skills were born from arcane magic that flows through him. He seeks not to flaunt his magic, but instead make everyone believe he is mundane, as if his gift is some sort of curse. Thanks to his abilities, Bender Of Iron Will has modified his ships with his crafting skills, giving him an edge in naval combat.

BUILD: Broad
A trait from his home, Isania, where most of the population is rather broad compared to most other people. What isn't usual among his people is his truly gigantic size, a whopping 2,10 meters! Though the old man is starting to get a bit large around his stomach region, he is still a relatively well muscled man due to working physical jobs his entire life. This grandfather can throw a punch if needed, and not just with his mechanical arm!

AGE 62
In Human years, Bender is considered to be old. Especially for a sailor, who generally don't live very long due to health problems by being at sea for such a long time on a (usually) dirty ship. Because of his age, the old captain is starting to question the meaning of life, as well as whether the decisions he has made in the past were the right ones.

HAIR: Silver-ish grey, long
Poor Bender. How he'd love to pull off the long hair and thick beard combo. Sadly he can't. Though he has been blessed with long and thick hair, despite his age, he simply can't grow a decent beard for the life of him! Instead he has to deal with an ugly 5 o'clock shadow that is barely noticeable, except for a few stray long hairs here and there.

SKIN: lightly tanned (usually)
Bender's skin is an enigma. Most of the time he is quite tan from being in the unforgiving heat of the sun on a daily basis. But there are times when his tanned skin disappears and lights up into this pale basement dweller colour. This usually happens when the old man ports and spends the rest of his days in a tavern.

EYES: Greyish green
Bender has no special eyes. His irises are a greyish green colour and don't stand out much.

ALLIGNMENT: True Neutral
There was once a time where Bender Of Iron Will set out to be feared among pirates and honest men alike. He had no moral guidance when it came to who he would kill and who he would spare. He followed the guidance of gold more than anything. But in the recent years this changed. He became older, he has met new friends and has started to become influenced by a Halfling who has shown him the merit of compassion. No longer is Bender Of Iron Will a cruel pirate, but an old man, trying to change his ways before his life ends.

Because of this, he has been known to show mercy where needed and give others a chance. He's still a greedy old bugger, though, and will still get blinded by the promise of gold.

PERSONALITY: Social, fearless
Despite being capable of cruelty and mischief, Bender does have somewhat of a moral compass. He laughs, he drinks and talks with strangers with great curiosity and interest. Those who are close the old man would know him to be someone who knows perfectly when to be serious and when to be merry. However, Bender has seen things in his day and age that have left his mind addled. Here and there he will stop considering safety or responsibility for an action and simply act on instinct, where as the man is otherwise very calculated and shrewd.

Usually he likes to wear a black tricorne hat in combination with his thick copper goggles. Bender has got both his eyes, yet he likes wearing an eyepatch when he sails. This eyepatch is in the shape of a gear with an eye painted in the middle.

Bender Of Iron Will wears a long dark green cloak over his back, which is large enough to wrap all around him in case the weather turns out to be cold. His regular shirt is usually of dark grey color and made out of cotton, or whatever feels comfortable. His gloves are usually made out of leather, same as hints pants. Bender also wears a very wide belt where his jewel incrested sabre and augmented handgun. The captain's boots are gigantic. Bender had to use a thick rope and wrapped it around his boots in order to make sure they didn't fall off.

Even though he does his best to hide it, sooner or later his secret gets revealed. Notable about Bender Of Iron Will is his steel left arm. He can move it like a regular arm without any issue. The arm has got a dark copper type of color with smooth edges and with easy to locate hatches that, once opened, show the many gears spinning inside. The arm is very heavy though and it does put strain on his shoulder time to time.

The Moneymaker

Bender's very first ship! The Moneymaker is a simple merchant's frigate turned pirate vessel. Before Bender took it over it was known as The Golden Phantom, which Bender thought was far too serious. The Moneymaker has a set of 16 cannons, 8 on each side and is a pretty fast ship, though not very large.

Its oak wood panelling makes for a comfortable and sturdy ship that even looks welcoming towards others. The three sails are very large and the entire hull of the ship seems have copper and iron plating over it for some reason. Not to mention that almost every cannon has some sort of modification on it, made by Bender.

Zephyr's Bane
Now this is a ship! Zephyr's Bane, formerly known as Cannith's Pride, is an elemental ship, built by the masterminds of House Cannith, who hired Bender and his crew to retrieve some items from a Cannith Workshop in the Mournland. Though the mission was successful, the old captain figured that the reward did not add up to the dangers he had seen in the Mournland, and thus he ran off with both the items from the workshop as well as the Elemental Ship.

Zephyr's Bane is a huge galleon with dark mahogany boarding and black steel ridges to make the ship look dangerous. It has a whopping six sails, all copper coloured and has four floors. It has a total of 16 cannons on both sides of the ship, including four more in the front and the back of the ship.

Such a large ship would be considered slow, but this is an Elemental Ship! It is powered by a Storm Elemental known as Vish'krag, who is trapped within a large chamber. Its very presence is what makes the ship speed across the seas.

Zephyr's Bane is large, comfortable, and a target. House Cannith feels cheated and is doing everything in their power to get their ship back. However, Bender has no intention of giving up his prized ship, and confrontation is inevitable.
